Landing and Stairs

This project was a re-modelling of a home located on Langford Lake. We transformed a large open concept entry foyer into a usable sitting area facing the water.

The decision to add this sitting area was made, as the original design was not ideal; the space was underwhelming and the hallway to the master bedroom obstructed the open feel that was originally intended.

Area 250 Renovations clients wanted to add a sitting area above the entrance to capture some new living space, that was otherwise unusable and somewhat wasteful; not taking advantage of the potential water front views.

The new design included framing in the new floor and to reuse the existing railing system and nosings. A new vinyl plank floor was added throughout the space, as well as a some electrical sockets, new baseboards and casings. After a new coat of paint and some fine tuning, the space was ready for its new roll in the home.

This space is facing huge windows overlooking the lake and our clients have been enjoying this reclaimed space, for a relaxing sitting area, with water front views.
